Galapagos: San Cristobal Island, Lobos Island and Santa Fe ISland
April 8, 2006
KERRY - We woke up to a beautiful peaceful morning with a sealion sitting on the back of our boat. We took a trip to Lobos Island in the dinghy and we were followed by sealions all the way.
We then headed over to San Cristobal Island and did another little hike over a very rocky terrain, while watching Frigat birds fly around us.
The morning snorkel was around Kicker rock. The water was absolutley freezing and it took my breath away - but we saw some gorgeous coral as well as a few sharks, so it was worth it!
Back on board we sailed to Santa Fe Island. On the way a stream of dolphins started to follow the boat which was so cool! We even saw 2 jump in the air, but unfortunatley were not able to get a picture of it. Andrei has videoed part of this, but can not publish that on this site.
During the hike in the afternoon on Santa Fe Island we saw lots of cactus trees and land igunas. It was boiling hot, so we were pleased to be able to go snorkelling aftet this in the bay. This time we saw 3 turtles as well as huge numbers of fish.
This evening was the last supper with our gang, as they were all leaving the next day, so the chef cooked us a feat of roast chickens as well as a farwell cake. The night was finished off with more bad rum being drunk!
