Galapagos; Floreana Island (aka Santa Maria)
April 6, 2006
Isla Santa Maria: Post Office Bay. There´s our guide Juan with KErry captivated. Unfortunately, there were no postcards to bring back to our neck of the woods in the UK. But Nicola took one for Sri Lanka.
After this it was back on the boat to get ready to go snorkelling for the first time for the 3 of us! we were a little nrevous but is was so good .The water was pretty clear and the highlight was when 3 or 4 sealions decided to come and swim with us! How cool! A futher snorkelling trip after lunch was also thouroughly enjoyed by us all, and lots of tropical fish were seen this time.
The afternoon hike to Punta Cormerant on Floreana Island was magical. The island was so quiet and we ended the hike on a gorgeous beach watching the sun begin to set. We saw flamingoes on this hike as well as crabs in the rocks on the beach and loads of birds.
