"Good thing that guy got hit by a car and we caught our bus"

Please don't judge me by the title of this post. It's one of those things you say when you're relieved that, although you're 20 minutes late for your bus to Oxford, you're still able to catch it. Yeah... too soon... too soon.

We made a little daytrip to Oxford where we would meet up with our friend, Miriam, who we both went to elementary school with and saw every couples years. Bus tickets are relatively cheap for the roundtrip, and it's a worthy expense to pay to get out of the city for the day.

We couldn't meet Miriam until later, so we wandered the streets on our own. Janelle had done a summer program in Oxford a few years earlier and so she showed me around a little bit. We visited Christ Church, and reinacted several scenes from Harry Potter, such as the one in the opening Hogwarts scene in the first movie when Neville finds his frog on the stairs. You know what I'm talking about. Embrace it. It was a beautiful day, so we put aside some time to lie on the grass and cloud watch for a bit as tourists wandered themselves and school groups walked by.

Seeing Miriam was great. We went to a small tapa bar for something to drink, then picked up a pizza and ate in a park. Buses back to Oxford run often and with your ticket, no matter what time you book to get back, you can hop on any one to catch a ride as long as there's room.
