Second Port: Juneau

Juneau Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

To celebrate my college graduation, my family took a 7-day Princess cruise to a small part of Alaska. (I need to cross-check specific dates, they're all within that week but I can't remember which days were the at-sea days.)

Second Port: Juneau

Alaska's capital is accessible by either air or sea, not land.  We obviously arrived by water.  The ship's lifeboats doubled as ferries to the mainland.  Our day in the capital was spent on water and land.  The water part was whale-watching.  I was very excited about the possibility of seeing whales for the first time and we spotted about four orca.  Also, on this excursion we saw seals and bald eagles.  The land part of the day involved just wandering around past the capital building and governor's house.
