We decided that we would spend our last day re-visiting some of the sights that we had briefly seen on the free bike tour two days previous. So having gotten up extremely late! we went back into the city to Check Point Charlie, The Wall and also the SS Headquarters.
The section of the wall we walked along was huge, and as far as i'm aware s the largest remaining section that is still standing. It has been covered along the eastern side with beautiful artwork which was commissioned by local artists who were all given a section of the wall to design. Some of the paintings represent what happened during the years that the wall stood around Berlin, whereas others are just random pictures. What i feel i shame is that so many people have tagged the wall with their names or random witty sayings which detracks from what the wall stands for and its a shame that people have in a way destoryed this important part of history.
In the evening we did the New Berlin Pub Crawl, which was such an amazing night. we met so many other travellers and had such a great time, Free Orange Vodka Shots baby! We ended up going to three pubs one in the art district we had visited on the bike tour, which had sand on the floor and plam trees all around the place. It was also where alex and the people were with ended up burying my shoes in the sand when i went to the loo, needless to say i now have a ton of sand rolling around the bottom of my bag! We met a guy called Hunter who was travelling from the US on his own and was loving the fact that at 18 he wasnt getting asked I.D for alcohol, there was also this random Iranian dude who was a lawyer and was again travelling on his own. We also met three girls who where from germany but had gone to an english school, we were very confused when we first met them as they sounded so english, on of the girls scarily looked and sounded like Kelly Osbourne!
The pub crawl was such a great way to spend our last night in Berlin, Tommrow it soff to the station to catch the train down to Munich!
