On the road to Carcassonne
After a few hours in my sisters Yaris, on the beautifull highways of France surounded by lavender and sunflower fields we arrived in Carcassonne under a burning sun and 36 degres! The maps were very helpfull and so was the A/C!!
We quickly dumped our bags at the hotel and headed straight to the "Cité". Carcassonne is a medieval fortress composed of a cathedral, castel and small village build within the walls. Its history and modifications made throughout the years only makes it even more beautifull. We took a guided tour where we learned many details such as the methods used to build such a fortress, the different battles it has witnessed and many messages/indications of the past history. I personnaly loved the carvings on the walls left by prisonners that are still very visible even after many many years...
I took tones of pictures, seriously... a lot!! But the size of Carcassonne makes it hard to have an overall view of the entire "cité". I should post some pictures eventually, when I find my camera cable that I seem to have left at my sisters place!
I know I have not been very "frequent" in my updates but connecting to the internet is the last thing on my mind. There is so much to do here in Barcelona where I am currently that I prefer to spend my days outside! I will none the less update you on all the things I have seen but on a later date!
Hasto pronto todos!
