more magic from Gaudi!
We visited 2 other great creations of Gaudi today under our first grey sky! No rain, no sun.. Just really cloudy. It actually felt good for once as the heat and sun was something else.
Casa Mila (Pedrera): 1906-1912 Last civil creation from Gaudi built for Roser Segimon and Pere Mila (very rich couple). In our days, Casa mila is an appartement building... I could only dream of living in such a artistic appartement, the materials used to create this place are rich, colorfull and form great shapes ,volumes and textures. My all time favorite is the ruff with its beautifull chimneys.
Park Guell: 1900-1914 Built for Eusebi Guell, this park was ment the be a get away from the city where the air would be clean and where man and nature could reunite. The vegetation, the use of space, materiels and concepts really make this park special. To sit on the benchs made out of mosaix is really great, the shapes are ergonomic, so, comfortable and the designs and colors are beautifull to the eyes. The size of the entire park is impressive. Lets just say the architect really hit home with this park... Gaudi even stayed in park Guell for a few years where he built himself a home.
