Jbel Toubkal
June 27, 2007
Once we had left the Berbe village, we climbed up the road past a few villages, when we got to Oukaimeden the road stopped.
By this time we were sure we had taken a wrong turn, because the road we were supposed to be going on went through the city of Asni and Oukaimeden was to the North. My father asked some officers around there.
Oukaimeden is a town made for skiing and hiking, it looked really made for tourists with the Pyrenees style wooden sided houses, and guards at the gates to the hotels. This town is right next to Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in Morocco.
All along the road there had been small houses carved into the rocks that i wish I had stopped to take a picture of, but the road was narrow and curvy, and it would have been dangerous to stop. At these high altitudes many brightly colored wild flowers and streams of mountain water covered the sights by the road.
