Well... after visiting the quaint, medieval town of St. Paul de Vence, I met a totally different scene. Cannes
, a city of glamour and chique cafes, was different in almost everything from St. Paul. The sun was shining brightly, and was really hot... it would've been an awesome time to go to the famous beach lining the port city. Unfortunately, I couldn't, so I decided to visit at least one of the many cafes near the harbor. The traditional French fare delighted me, especially the desert XD. After eating a small lunch at the cafe I just walked around a bit near the harbor, looking at the sights. Many glitsy shops lined the street, with the latest French fashion in clothes. I stopped to take a picture on the famous steps where many movie stars walk on during the Cannes Film Festival.
The elaborate sand castle.
I saw the place in front of the steps relatively empty, compared to the hundreds of people crowded in the same area during the festival. As I walked near the beach, I saw a group of people finishing the details on a large, awesome sand castle. It was amusing seeing the process involved in it. After a while I decided to walk near the marina, seeing the expensive-looking yachts and dreaming of one of my own, (hehe). The water was a beautiful shade of blue, no wonder they call this area the Blue Coast (Cote d'Azur). Many people were enjoying the beach, and the perfect weather for it. I then bid farewell to the glitsy port of Cannes, hoping to return some day when the Film Festival would be taking place...
