The trip has drastically improved. Yes, we missed our flight but when we got there, we had som amazing Irish stew and it was just a taste of things to come.
Brice and I cancelled Paris to stay a few more days in Ireland. It is so green here and I love the accents. Things are not too ridiculously expensive and the people are nice.
The hostels weren't great but the pubs were. The first day, Brice and I organized a trip around the surrounding Dublin area. It was just beautiful. We hiked (by accident) to the top of a mountain and has the most amazing views of the surrounding countryside. On the tour, we ended up meeting a couple of really fun Australian girls whom, we made plans with to meet at the pub later on (Brice was a fan! :))
We checked into our second hostel and met an American guy staying in our room.
Today, we woke up early and headed to Doolin (a tiny little town on the West coast of Ireland). Todd is tagging along with us. We spent most of the day hiking to the cliffs of Moher which, are absolutely spectacular! Sometimes, I am just amazed at the beauty of our earth. We hiked through a ton of mud and jumped over a few electrical fences (totally harmless but a little intense). The cliffs are huge and drop dramatically down to the ocean below. I can't wait to upload some pics. Of course, it never quite captures the beauty but oh well! None of us brought rain jackets and it started pouring for the last hour of our trek. We were absolutely drenched by the time we got to the visitor center and took a cab back. So amazing! I heart Ireland!
So we will probably take a nap and head off to the local pub (as all the Irish do) tonight. Hope all is well at home! Tomorrow we are off to another Irish destination!
