Today was pretty relaxed. I got up fairly early this morning to catch a city tour of Bordeaux and a wine tasting seminar. I cant get over how beautiful the architecture is here. It feels like walking back in time (minus the cars and the high tech tram).
The city tour was nice this morning. Im still kind of sad I didnt make it on a vineyard tour. I saw the people loading the bus and seriously contemplated just getting on. My tour of the city was pretty nice though. At 11:30 am, the wine tasting seminar started. We only tried 3 wines but all 3 were fantastic...two red wines and one desert wine. I dont like white wines very much so it was great! The only problem was that I hadnt eaten breakfast so wine + empty stomach = happy sandra.
I spent the rest of the day wandering around the streets and shopping. They have rue st.catherine which is one of the longest shopping streets on the continent. It was fun.
It is great to be staying at Carlos sisters house but unfortunately, it means that I dont meet a lot of other people (like I do in the youth hostels). So I went out for supper on my own (Carlos caught the train to Paris today). It was nice...a little quiet, but very nice. I sat and drank some excellent Bordeaux and watched the sun go down on the cathedral. It is no lie that France has some incredible food and drink...they are right about it being some of the best in the world...much different than Morocco was...haha.
Tomorrow, I am off to Paris. Should be fun!
