Me and an Irish friend decided to treat ourselves to a weekend away, so we headed east to Peschiera del Garda to what is supposed to be Italy's best theme-park - Gardaland. The day was rainy, but we were convinced it would clear up. It didn't.
The park was deserted due to the bad weather, so we at least had the benefit of no queues. The park is really spread out and we kept getting lost even though we had a map. Some of the rides were just for small kids, but there a few rollarcoasters and water rides for us 'big kids'.
It was about 10:30 by the time we pulled into Verona's train station. Finding a hotel wasn't as easy as we thought and it took almost 2 hours of walking around the city before we found somewhere affordable with a free room. It cost us 80,000 lira (€40) each and we got breakfast, so it was actually a bargain for a city centre hotel. We were both exhausted since we had been up very early that morning to catch our train and we slept almost instantly.
