The Summary
Iloilo city is known for the Dinagyang festival, and is held every fourth Sunday of January to celebrate the feast of Senor Sto. Nino. (Child Jesus) During the celebration, the quiet city is filled with the noise of the drum beats and dances of tribes. Volunteers from different districts in the city group themselves to form tribes. During the culminating event, a final showdown is being held. The tribes dance to an original drumbeat with everyone in charcoal painted bodies and ethnic costumes.
