Ao Nang Beach

Ao Nang has been a great destination over the past 4 or 5 days. It was very quiet in comparison to Bangkok but very relaxing.

On the 19th, our first full day in Ao Nang, we spent it exploring the one main street looking in the stalls, where I found a shark tooth necklace, and booking an organise tour for the 20th. We also had the best Banana pancakes - BEAUTIFUL

We set out early on the 20th with ‘Barracuda Tours’ with whom we were heading to Phi Phi Islands with. We headed to the popular Islands by speed boat. We explored Monkey Bay, Maya Beach (‘The Beach’), Phi Phi Don (a small tourist centre), a deep water snorkelling spot ‘Hing Klarng’ and Bamboo Island. It was a good day out on the water.

On the 21st we decided to do another adventure as it was very cheap (NZ$22 for the day). We headed out on a ‘4 Island Tour’ for some beach play and snorkelling. It was very beautiful but as with the previous day there were many tourists and the snorkelling was not great due to coral damage from the tsunami. Still a great day.

Today was spent travelling in a mini bus from Ao Nang to Patong in Phuket.
