Day 08
Today we headed out of Galway and out into the rugged Connemara Region. We headed deep into the area and arrived at Kylemore Abbey. It was first built as a Manor house but is now home to an all-girl’s boarding school. We had a look about the region before getting back on the bus and heading south again towards Galway. Along the way we stopped at the Connemara Marble factory which fashions this unique marble into small trinkets and jewellery. Connemara Marble is distinct because of its naturally green color. another marble that is worked on at that location is Galway Marble (which is black in color and has marine fossils deposited within it)
Returning to Galway, we did a bit of wandering around before having dinner and then turning in early.
