Off the train to stretch our legs for the day and see the town on Yekaterinburg! We managed to find the baggage at the train station amongst all the chaos, then went exploring. We found the main street and looked at the 'sights'...credit to the Lonely Planet otherwise we wouldnt have known what to do! Most museums didnt exist any more except for one- the photography museum....pretty strange but interesting all the same!
We stumbled across a restaurant called 'Sundays', and remembered that out roomates in Moscow recommended the buffet here...so in we went and here we stayed for a good few hours! The buffet was unreal....you get a plate and basically fit as much food onto it as possible, and it had salads and local types of meats and poultry, breads and sauces galore. What we ate probably equaled around as much as we would normally eat in 3 days! But it was gooooooood!
As the day neared to end we headed to the station. We made some more friends here, two local army dudes who were very merry and willing to card tricks and share thier lollies with us! They also gave us a memorial pin...hmmmmmm. Thanks guys!! We reunited with Jen and Martin who had a 1st class cabin on the same train so we were ready for a few big nights on board
