Murchison Gorge in Kalbarri National Park
And another early start (getting the impression this is the way in Australia) up at 5 again to leave at 6.30 to go to Murchison Gorge in Kalbarri National Park, after a trek across the Gorge some of us went Abseiling, absolutely brilliant, 1st time was so scary having to walk backwards over the edge and having to trust that the rope will hold you, its getting to grips with being able to control the speed that I struggled, once over though it was great jumping down, 2nd time down was even better as I knew what to expect so did it mega fast 2nd time, definately want another go at that while I am out here. This was all over by 9am by this time it was stinking hot, we trekked back to the coach then drove to the Z bend in the Gorge for another Trek down and back up to the coach, after a short trip in the Coach we were due to go fresh water swimming which was much needed after all the trekking of the morning but due to flooding from the river we couldnt get through to it, so we had a long afternoon on the coach for our trip to Denham
, 39 degrees today, stinking hot! On the way we visited the Stolamites, which basically looks like rocks in the sea, it was nice to get some sea air though.
Me abseiling at Murchison Gorge
Next stop is Shell Beach, absolutely beautiful, instead of sand its trillions of white shells and we got our much needed swim and as an added bonus we had the whole beach to ourselves. From here we drove up to Denham for a night in another Hostel, this was a pretty funky hostel based on the beach, it had a pool, pool table and table tennis, so after a Barbie we all just chilled out with a couple of drinks, which ended up being a pretty late night!
