Home again...in the slow lane

Got up early Saturday morning to make the airport and fly home.  It was cool that all the shops in the terminals open up at 7AM, even on Saturday, so we scored some rum to take home.  My friend from Puerto Rico makes this killer punch at Christmas and says that the rum is the secret ingredient.  Mind you it isn’t Bacardi (which she doesn’t care for), but Don Q.  At ridiculously cheap prices they package it up quickly and effectively so you can carry it on home.

There was bad weather in Houston, so after flying four hours to get there, we circled for two and then detoured to Austin to re-fuel.  We opted to bail at this point being so close to home and fearful that waiting to return to Houston would only get us stranded there that night.  So we rented a car and got home not too far behind schedule, although without our checked luggage.  On the bright side, it felt good to be home and with no dirty clothes to unpack and start washing, we just sat back and sampled some Don Q, reveling in memories of a splendid trip.........
