The Jamieson Valley from high above in the Blue Mountains

Later on in the week (Wednesday) myself and Ian decided on a full day of adrenalin fuelled activity.  Canyoning was 'the choice of weapon'.  However, much to our chagrin, the operators declined to take take our booking due to 'bad weather'!  Not to be deterred, the decision was taken to head out to the Blue Mountains and feast on a day of bush walking.

Wentworth Falls was the destination and we were not disappointed with our choice.  With a pleasntly surprising (due to normal freezing mountain climates) similarity to Monday's weather we were greeted with glorious warm sunshine (hence the 'bad weather' comment) upon disembarking the train!  After a quick feed and refreshment at a quaint little cafe on the main street of Wentworth Falls our minds were focused and we set forth for the walking tracks thact beckoned us!

Upon perusing the maps and information centre our route was agreed upon.

..The Overcliff Pass, which merged with The Undercliff Pass, The Wentworth Falls Pass, and finally, the energy sapping National Pass.  In total this accounted for roughly a 10km 'workout'! :-)

The scenery was quite stunning.  With panoramic views of the sweeping Jamieson Valley below us and magnificient rock formations that would have been thrilling to climb!  All interspersed by a number of majestic waterfalls...it was as though we had been teleported into a different world full of tranquility and splendour!  It was a fantastic day that was thoroughly enjoyed...even accounting for the near mishaps when negotiating the slippery rock pools!! :-) :-)

The evening was spent at a really nice Chinese restaurant in the China Town district down by Dixon Street.  The meal was convivial where some gorgeous red wines were consumed accompanied by a nice selection of seafood....hhhhmmmmm!!!
