If you ever went to an oktoberfest celebration anywhere, you are cheating yourself of the real deal. Munich's Annual celebration, began as a party for a king. It's success back in the day left it as annual party. Thousands of people arrive there to drink awesome beer and to party till the sun comes up. The  lessons I learned, if you want to get your foot into any of the good beer tents, come really early or reserve your seat. Unfortunately the party train heading there had no such option. After waiting for hours to get into a beer tent, we changed pace and headed downtown.
Downtown Munich is considerably interesting, from large architectural sights. There are several churches worth walking into. Specially the one that has the devils foot. I managed to revist Munich at a later date and see the things that I missed the first time.  Food and drinkwise, you have the easy access to the great local cusine. My suggestion try the "Weiss Wurst with dumplings" and order a large beer fass(one liter of beer) to wash the tastiness down. Enjoy your time at Munich, sit back and relax and enjoy the wonder that are around you.
