Galway!
After a busy, fun filled day driving all over northwestern Ireland, we reached Galway. As our drive wound the bus down the narrow streets, we reached one place near the hostel where traffic was backed up. As we got off the bus to investigate, we could see that there were several cars waiting for an old lady to parallel park her car. Now, these roads are so narrow that you can't even squeeze another car by, and so we were stuck. Until, that is, our bus driver walked over to the car, nicely asked the lady to exit, and he proceeded to park the car. He followed up by directing traffic until everything was cleared up...it really was impressive!
Once we were settled in to the hostel, we took a walk around Galway. It's a nice college-type town with lots of restaurants. We picked a place and had dinner. On the way back we ran into a street performer. He put on an entire show for the audience which involved saving a girl and defeating his enemy...with bread. The evening ended with some wine at the hostel.
