On day 2 I grabbed my swim trunks and headed out the door. My plan for the morning (actually, I slept in a bit, so it turned into early afternoon) was to go to the Olympic Stadium, check it out, and then go for a swim...it was a hot day, after all. It was a long walk but I enjoyed it, checking out the sites on the way. It was hot, but a beautiful day for a walk...and I was in Spain! I snapped some photos on the way, you will have to take a look. The neatest thing about the whole area were the outdoor escalators...forget those pesky stairs!
I finally made it to the stadium and took a look around. I decided to swim first since it was now the hottest part of the day, so I did just that. It was very nice and relaxing, and to swim in an olympic pool was kinda neat.
After I was done at the stadium (I did not take home any Olympic medals) I continued my walk up Montjuic (not sure the exact significance of the mountain and the name, but it has something to do with the Jewish people) to the old fort at the summit. It was free to get in, so I took a look around. I basically just went up there for the view. After coming down the hill, I grabbed something to eat (a little later this time), and then walked around Las Ramblas at night.
