After our whitsundays trip we began making our way down to our final australia destination where we were to spend the next 7 months living and working- Melbourne. The journey took us about 10 days including a brief stop on the sunshine coast again to catch up with Lorna and Joel. We did the actual journey from Brisbane in 3 days flat via Canberra on the inland route. The weather and scenery changed dramatically on the way and there were times where we struggled to keep warm in Erni- Thank god for the free tea and biscuits from the roadside revivers ! We arrived in a much cooler than expected Melbourne....
After a 3 day stay at 'BASE' in St Kilda, we managed to find a nice flat in Prahran, which was to be our home for the next 7 months. As september arrived we decided it was time to gete rid of Erni as we had no intention of travelling anymore by road....September also brought the 2nd of many festivals- Parklife on the Yarra River was set to an amazing backdrop of the financial district of the city....the photos speak for themselves in saying a good day (and night) was had by all!
September 30th brought the AFL grand final to the MCG and we were celebrating in more ways than one as we managed to sell the van that day for a profit! It was now also time to settle into a job which took the course of working in a call centre for the national telecom company Telstra- not something we'd planned to do but it paid the bills.
