Noosa (Sunshine Coast)
May 12, 2006
Hey, from Brisbane, we headed up the Sunshine Coast towards Fraser Island. On the way we passed Australia Zoo, we wanted to go there as there are plenty more shows here than what you get in your average Zoo's but it was too late in the Day so we thought to drive past and not waste any time.
We carried on driving further towards a Campsite in Coolum. Coolum is a tiny beach resort with a small strip of shops and a great beach. We checked in and went down to check out the beach.
The following today we headed towards Noosa and checked into another Campsite near the River. After that we headed on down to the main beach where you get nice little Cafes, Bars and Shops without the highrise buildings you get in Surfers Paradise. We had a little sunbathe here and went into the sea, couldn' believe how clear the water was.
Later on that Evening we had a BBQ in the Campsite by the River, very peaceful with little motor boats going past. You wont believe what happend next, it was roughly about 17:45, going dusky and the next minute we saw quite a lot of bats flying over our heads and we thought probably just migrating or something but they continued to fly past us and they started to become a thicker pack from what they first did, this lasted for about 30 minutes non stop. I have never seen anything like this in my life, i tried to get a photo but it was too dark, a shame because it was amazing.
We stayed here for another night and the following morning we made our way to Rainbow Beach, our gateway to our Fraser Island Trip.
Will let you all know how the Trip goes.
