Great Ocean Road
July 8, 2007
Stefanie and I joined another staff member and her niece for a 3 day trip along the Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool. The first night we stayed in at Helens caravan not far from Geelong . It was so relaxing sitting on the sandy shore line looking out into the endless line of the ocean….of course enjoying a glass of wine! The next day we drove to Warrnambool and in the evening saw a fantastic laser show that told the story of the sinking of the Loch Ard. On the third day we drove along the windy ocean road stopping often to take photos of this breathtaking scenery. One stop was at the inlet where the two survivors of the Loch Ard landed when the ship went down. The cave is still there where Eva Carmichael stayed while Tom Pearce climbed the cliff to seek help. The 12 Apostles have now become 8 but still stand as majestic as ever along the coast line.
