My last day in Mexico
June 17, 2007
It was sad leaving the Fairmont. I could have stayed there much, much longer. We hadn't intended on spending any time in Cancun, but for some odd reason, my mom thought that Cancun was halfway between the resort and the airport rather than the airport being halfway between the resort and Cancun. Oh well. We arrived in Cancun early in the afternoon and started out doing some shopping on the north end. That was really a waste of time. Everybody was selling the same thing and it just felt like we were being harassed. So we headed to our hotel. The Ritz was another amazing hotel, although I still preferred the Fairmont. After we checked in, we headed down to the beach again. It was so different than the beach at the Fairmont. The waves were coming in really strong. We kept get knocked over again and again, but it was a lot of fun. At the same time, it was purely exhausting. Then it was off to the lounge chairs to catch our breath and dry off again. Once the sun was too low to reach the beach, we headed to the pool to get rid of that salty feeling and finished the afternoon with some drinks and conversation.
