Frankly, Sibenik was not on my route at first. However, I like changing plans during my vacations and add some extra destinations as a touch of spice.

So, I decided to stay one more day in my nice accomodation in Split to make a daily visit to Sibenik. From Split to Sibenik, you can find a bus-ride hourly, it takes approx. 1.15 hours to get there. Sibenik is a lovely coastal town, neither very big, nor so small. I was luckly again because two lovely sisters hosted my in Sibenik and they introduced a demo of local dalmatian cuisine with accompany of Turkish coffee (That's what I'm talkin' about! =))

After lunch, we went to one of the beaches and hung out for a while.

The beach was kind of crowded as always because of the weekend. So, take this universal advice about "Go to the beach during weekdays if you wanna avoid the crowd", but I was in vacation, right? So, crowd is the thing I was looking for.=)

Sibenik downtown is similar to the other old city town architecture of dalmatia. Stone buildings, maze type Mediterranean streets, big square in front of the Religious Monument etc etc. You can also visit  St. Michael's Castle (Kastel Sv. Mihovil) to take some great panorama pictures. Don't miss the sunset over Adriatic sea if you're a photography lover.

You can hangout in the bars, pubs or cafe's around the old town in Sibenik, they're mostly located on Riva, but there are some others in secret location between buildings where you can have a great view. Just believe of searching and the explorer inside you...

Thank you David. Frankly, my trip to Sibenik spontaneously happened. I was thinking about for a daily trip to Island Brac, Trogir or Sibenik, then I decided to go there at last minute =)
