Explosion crater and natural bath

Myvatn region is so impressive. Today we had a great walk trough bizarre lava formations up to a 160m high volcano explosion crater. The weather was great, blue sky in the Myvatn region. The way up to Hverfjall was not easy. It was like walking up sand dunes (again), just straight up to the edge of the crater. Going down wasn't even better, I never had so much sand in my shoes.

Arrived in Guesthouse Dimmuborgir (means Dark Castle cause the lava formations) it was time for our 2nd try for making pasta. This time it was much better and it had a good taste. Maybe it was just the wrong type of pasta we've chosen.

Our room for this night is really cosy, and big. (Room 3 must be the best one of all.) We did a good choice the day before.

Like Icelandic people do, to finish a great day we went to the myvatn natural bath.

We planned to go to the Westfjords for today, but as we know now, the distances in Iceland are really long. So we decided to stay in the region and enjoy the surrounding instead of drive the whole day just to see some sighs. It was a good choice to do this change. Means also, that the next few days will not continue as planed and we have to cancel the ferry and guesthouse(s).
