We were unsure of where we wanted to go on holiday this summer and were waiting for a late deal, it was getting closer and closer to our booked time off and we hadnt found anywhere. In the end we decided we would put the trip together our selves, i managed to get cheap return flights to Sharm el Sheikh so this made our mind up for us - this was where we were going!

On the 15th August we got up and headed off to the airport, picking up any last minute reading material for the 5 hour flight we knew we had ahead of us. We were slightly delayed, but by nothing drastically. On arriving at Sharm el Sheikh airport we were ushered into a room with booths with people shouting "this way" we formed an unorganised queue and waited - collecting our Egyptian visa. We only got this as we wanted to leave Sharm el Sheikh to visit some other parts of Egypt. Once we were armed with our visa we headed to the next unorganised queue to wait for our entry stamp.

Once exiting the airport we heading off in search for a taxi - they were everywhere but were not cheap, we were told to only pay about EGP 100, however when you are in a strange country you have never been to before and they are not budging on the price and its dark, you don't have much choice other than to pay the price they set. This was $40! We arrived at the hotel about 10 minutes or so later and went to check in.
