The Posada de los Raqueros shares its backyard with its neighbours on the sandy bay of Manzanillo.
(with sandy I mean more sand than rocks, but you should beware of the rocks as they are pointy!!)
This is a surfers' paradise and I heard surfers start calling each other whenever there are stong winds giving the big surfs:)
Eric Bjorndahl sent me a link: http://www.swellmagnet.com/surf_reports/surf_report_troncones/surfreport.php?category=38 that speaks for itself.
That might be the reason why you find lots of hotels, cabins and lodges along the coastal road of Troncones.
The pics on that web-page may alter with the seasons showing the big waves, but also for non surfers the bay is great for swimming and bodyboarding and there is a variety of animals here that you might not find at home.
Brown pelicans are surfing the waves on their wings when fishing, and frigate birds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frigatebird) watch the waters from above.
You can walk the coast and see lots of beautiful stony micro lakes with its inhabitants like crabs, fish and the pointy sea urchin (beware not to step on those!!)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_urchin)
Please use surfing shoes or plastic sandals, crossing pointy rocks and water is not good for your bare feet nor for leather shoes, and sports shoes will reek terrible:)
