Grand Canyon by Chopper

OK so this entry is a little out of sync, as we went yesterday before the night shots of Vegas, but in order to make the blog map look pretty this gets a separate entry today instead.
So we got picked up at 12:15pm yesterday for a half a mile drive to the heliport, where we checked in, weighed in, and were transported to our chopper, and met our pilot for the day, Yoshi, far from being a green dinosaur, she was a tiny Japanese pilot who was very funny and made our trip enjoyable.
We got the front 2 seats due to the "weight distribution" (I knew being heavy would pay off) to prebook front seats costs $50 so we got a result here.
We took off and headed east over Lake Las Vegas towards Lake Mead, the largest man-made lake in the states, which also happens to be the location of the Hoover Dam, which looked tiny from the air, but I imagine is huge once you're anywhere near it.
We flew for about 40 mins and reached the Canyon, which allowed for some great photos, before we landed in the Canyon and had a picnic and Champagne, good times. Got about 30 mins inside which was more than enough considering the searing heat!
On the way back we flew North of the outbound route, and did a complete flyover of the Vegas strip, which would have been fantastic at night, but I guess the Canyon shots wouldn't have been, so you can't have everything (unless you take 2 trips).
Anyways just packing our things up to head to the airport for our flight to Chicago, our last stop on the American adventure.
