Capetown from the bottom of Table Mountain

I was told before I left for my trip to Cape Town, I must visit table mountain and I must go on a clear day.  Well, I managed to do one of those.  The weather was assburger.  But the Canadians wanted to go up anyway.  This hike was no joke.  Especially because I was not prepared.  What can I say, they kicked me out of Boy Scouts.  I was wearing diesel jeans and low top pumas.  It was super cold and wet, but after awhile I started sweating.  It took us about 3 hours to make the summit with no payoff.  All clouds and mist.  The lodge on top sold welcoming cold drinks and hot local cuisine, weigh your food style.  Instead of taking a chance on the wet slipperty rocks, we took the gandola down.   It was well worth the 85 Rand.

Later me and the 2 French guys from the hostel watched Germany v Australia in the Indian restaurant in Muizenberg.  The conversation was mostly with grand hand gestures, since they dont speak English and my French is terrible.  Germany 4-0.  I was forced to change rooms last night with a double bed all to myself.  The window looked out onto the beach.  But the room was super cold.  The wind blew straight through the windows even though they were closed.
