11th March 2009
Had a nice day today, we went to the lakes aquarium and managed to spend over 2 and a half hours in it! It was fun, I especially liked the Marmoset Monkeys! Very cute indeed! After the Aquarium we had our pack-ups and sat by the lake for a while, i'm really enjoying being at the lakes again, yesterday i found a new love of Border Collies too! We went for a walk up Catbells, which the previous year had been super easy to climb but this year i felt the ache a bit more...it could have been because of Chris though, he's a smoker and had to keep stopping to catch his breath. The more stops we took the more it seemed to ache! The moral of that story being "Do NOT smoke!" silly boy. Anyway half way up we passed a group of kids i think on a school orienteering activity with two adults and two Border Collies! The collies ran over to say hi to me and dropped me a stick so i duly threw it for them and they fetched it back a good 3 times before returning to their group.
After having our pack ups today by the lake we went to the "South Lakes Animal Park"...i dub this day 'Animal Day!'. The zoo was really nice and the animals had alot of space which i really loved, usually i don't like zoos, something about seeing animals caged that makes me sad. Maybe it's because i'm a travel lover, you can't love something caged when you yourself like to spread your wings, seems a contradiction to me. The zoo boasted Lions and Tigers, Bears and Monkeys like any good zoo but i think the BEST part was the Kangaroos, i'd never seen a Kangaroo in the flesh before so it was really exciting for me, you could even feed them! I made a friend i think out of one who was blind in one eye (awww) he was very fluffy and cute! The only thing i didn't like about the "Animal Park" was the fact there were birds walking around in the same places people were.
On the way back from the Animal Park we stopped in at a random little place in the middle of nowhere and did some candel dipping which was really fun, i made a candle for my mum which she'll appreciate i'm sure :-P.
