After a few repairing hours we finnaly got up to enjoy a long breakfast and go out to visit the ski station. As I mentionned earlier I had never seen the alps in Winter. Les deux Alpes looks like an unhospitable desert in summer with the grey skitrack filled with trash and high ugly building defacing the beauty of the natural mountain. Somehow all this uglyness is hidden by the snow.
After this short visit of the station we went to rent our equipment and buy the skipass. The walk from the shop to the skitrack seemed awfully long and uncomfortable with the boots. All my friends where big skier and learned it as child, they didn't show it but they where scared for me. As I tried to use the ski-tow I felt like a kid for his first day at school since all my friends where encouraging me loudly. I allmost felt but didn't. Reassured by my first success, I was quite confident for the first ski attempt. It lasted two minutes before I felt, stand again, felt again... etc. The hardest is not to fell but to stand again and re-clip both ski. I spend the entire days on the skitrack with 6years old and their monitor. It was a little embarassing to take skiing advice of little kids, but well their center of gravitation is low.
At the end I was becoming good at this, it's just that my full body was in pain and I was wandering if I could still have children after a little accident on a big slope.
It was now time for recomfort with wine, cheese and a good evening with friends
