I had signed up for a tour to the Blue Mountains + abseil trip ($185).  Jed stopped by before 9:00 and we stopped at the site for the upcoming Olympics, which was built on top of a toxic waste dump.  Instead of cleaning it up, they put a cap over it, but of course now the chemicals are leaching into the water table.  There is also a prison next to the Olympic village.
We stopped at the park first to play the name game and watch the kangaroos.  Next we went to Wentworth Falls and walked a long way down.  Met Celeste, who was also a music teacher.  There was a group of Italians on the trip, all they did was talk the whole time!  After a late lunch, we went to the Three Sisters and the long walk down.  The sunlight was hitting the Three Sisters just right.  Jed told us the Aboriginal story about how they were formed.  We stopped for a few minutes to appreciate the sounds of nature, but the Italians didn't shut up.   We made the train back up in plenty of time.  It;s the steepest railway in the world, one section was over 50 degrees!  Stopped off at the hostel with Louise, who was also going abseiling in the morning.  Had kangaroo for dinner!
