Where to stay .. where to stay ... sigh

Lompraya office gave us a list of hotel to choose. I hoped to stay in a nice hotel, I would spend money for it - for this time - for my birthday. Usually I don't care about the room when I go to the beach, just somewhere that's connected to the sea, even it's a small room i can take it. This time I thought I'd find at least a nice one near the beach but things don't turn that way.
We found nice hotels, yes, but about 10 places we've called were full. The last one we called was Ban’s Diving and was available. The staff recommended us to take it, yeah maybe not bad. We just wanted a place to relax at least one day then we would find more to change, so maybe it's ok. Anyway, it wasn't ok for me that much. I have 3 days holiday and I don't want to move everyday but since we didn't plan, what choices we can have? Since we called many places and they're full so we're afraid to walk in. We had to choose Ban's Diving without knowing how it is. Just hoped that it'd be a nice one in a quiet area.
The Lompraya speed boat charged 550THB per person took us to Koh tao around 1.30hrs. Then the cab from Ban’s diving came to pick up us. We met another group of Thai people and one lady from USA going to the same place. I had no idea where Ban's diving is. Just know that in Sairee beach. We tried not to stay on this beach but the others were full and we didn't do a nice research before, so we went there with hope. We didn't take a breathe yet, we arrived Ban's diving. It's really close to the pier!! Oh. Reminded me of Sai Kaew Beach of Rayong where's near the pier -full of tourists, noisy, beach not beautiful. And here's the same.
Ok, the place isn’t bad and Ban’s Diving is famous for diving but what I don’t like is, it isn’t the sea view hotel. The restaurant is connected to the beach but not the rooms. It’s just a hillside. The room looks a bit old but the bed was good. Anyway, I think it should be like 1,000THB not 2,000THB. There are about 3 Supermarkets with the cement street in between- same like Had Rin at Phangan Island. It’s crowded, and full of restaurants and internet cafés. The beach is short - I mean the sand space is short. The noise from the bar was loud - you’re in the room but you could hear it. The fault isn't them because they're located there since long time but the fault was me that didn't plan before.
It’s a nice area if you like to stay among people, if you want to party or if you come to dive but not a nice place for people who want a quiet place and peaceful room. I told Ale we should move, agreed. Tomorrow we would.
What a birthday trip. We didn’t even have a relaxing time, just focused on the place to move. I felt like we didn’t stop thinking about things since we left Bangkok yesterday. My birthday was the next day, hoped things would be better. I wanted to smile on my day not to make an ugly face to it.
