Half a moon for tonight

After a day out at the reef snorkeling with the giant whale sharks I get back to the town. I thought about going into the city for a short walk about but it is a bit late in the afternoon so it is actually too late to go exploring for the night. So I just end up walking up and down the main street for a little while looking at the birds going to bed.
There is a full moon out tonight - but there don’t seem to be any full moon party going on in this town. Even though tonight’s full moon is not an average full moon. It is one of those full moons when you actually end up with a bit of a lunar eclipse. It is a nice night with a clear sky so you can watch the eclipse easily from just outback from where I stay because this campsite actually is at the end of the city with just a bit of outback country just behind. So I go out and look towards the dark edge of civilization and see the moon partly disappear. It is not going away completely because it is only a partly lunar eclipse here in Exmouth. So after a while about half the moon is gone and then nothing more happens - the moon just slowly comes back to its full size.
