Flat lands of Roebuck

The drive from Eighty Mile Beach towards Broome follow highway one which almost circle all of Australia. The drive today isn’t all that interesting the road - the clouds takes away something from the landscape. I would love the bright sun on a clear blue sky. And the vegetation along the road is surprisingly green considering this is the dry season. Apparently there has been a lot of rainfall in the area within the last couple of months. At the sides of the road is some small trees growing of different kinds.
But suddenly all the trees disappear and the landscape becomes even flatter than it used to be without any trees for miles and miles.
From Roebucks Flats is only a short drive to Roebucks Roadhouse where highway one continues towards the Kimberley and a road turn off towards Broome - the capital of the Kimberley an area bigger than most European countries - with only about 25.000 people living spread out in a few small towns hundreds of miles apart. The roadhouse is quite busy with lots of road trains get fuel or the drivers just stopping here to rest for a while before continuing the long drive in WA. After this short stop it is only a short drive towards my Broome.
