Capitol
This morning we had a 10:10 Capitol Tour scheduled.  They said to be there an hour early which was a bit much for us.  We spent about 25 minutes outside waiting to go through security and then we ate breakfast at the cafeteria and it was time for our tour.  The tour was pretty disappointing to me.  We spent about an hour inside the Capitol and saw a few rooms along with the Rotunda in a group of about a hundred.  However, the new visitor center and Exhibition Hall were very nice.  After about 2 hours at the Capitol we took the underground passage to the Library of Congress.  The building was very gorgeous but the Library and another main room were both closed for some reason.  There wasn't really much to do there but look at the building and we also watched a short video about their collection.
After this we were hungry and there was a German restaurant pretty close so we headed that direction.  Wherever we went the other tourists didn't but the restaurant was amazing!  I had a sausage with German Potato Salad and Derek had Wienerschnitzel with the best German potatoes ever!

After this we walked around the Capitol to take some photos of the outside.  It was huge and not many people were around there.  It was very hot today and on our way to the Air and Space Museum we decided to stop at the Botanical Garden to cool off a bit.  They seemed to have a nice collection of plants, but I know nothing about them!  Then we headed to the Air and Space Museum.  The place was huge!  All the museums were open until 9pm for summer hours so we always went in the afternoon.  This was a great idea because all the tour and school groups left about 3-4 and it was just use and other families so none of the museums were busy.  We both really enjoyed the museum and spent probably 4-5 hours there.  By this point we were hungry and headed to the Metro to go to Ben's Chili Bowl!  Derek saw this on Man vs Food and Obama had also eaten there so it is kind of famous.  We sat right next to where Obama did :)  I personally didn't like the food but Derek sure did.
