In the afternoon I met up with James and Rachel again and we went to the public rose garden locate about Circus Maximus. We hit the right time of year and all the roses were in full bloom, they were beautiful. The garden was actually fairly crowded, so I headed up the hill to the orange garden that is located here as well, and then to the Knights of Malta keyhole. The orange garden was shady, and wonderfully peaceful, with no tourists to be found. As much as I would have loved to spend more time there among the shade and lovely trees, I felt as if I was intruding on the Italian families that were spending their Sunday afternoons there, so I moved on fairly quickly. Toward the top of the hill I found the keyhole, and found the view through it to be as picturesque as I had been told. I tried to snap a few pictures, but with my humble camera and the late afternoon sun, I just couldn't capture a proper shot. I would recommend a stop here some afternoon if you have the time, and are looking for a beautiful spot to take a break from the city.
