the original Papa a la Huancaina
It was about 3:30pm by the time we arrived in Huancayo and I was already starving, what a surprise! But before going for luch, we'd take care of our tickets back to Lima. It wouldn't be fun at all not to be able to leave that night. Well, after walking around we finally found the bus company which wasn't located that close and bought our tickets. We'd leave at 11:30pm. We had a lot of time to kill.

What to do now? There was just 1 right answer: Eating! It was about 4:30 pm by the time we arrived in a restaurant. I already knew where I wanted to go. In Lima I went to a restaurant about food from Huancayo and they also have a location here, yay!!! So we went straight there.
stuffed red pepper - yummy
Mmm, food time!!! I was a bit worried that it was late and they might not be working, but no problems at all! I didn't need much time to decide for a dish. I have already done that in advance. We shared an appetizer. Which one? Well, we were in Huancayo, so having a Papa a la Huancaina made total sense. Plus they do it the old style way. I tried that in Lima and totally loved it! So, go for it! As main dishes we had: Stuffed red bell pepper for Nathan and a Quinoa Salad for me. Both dishes were delicious. I was craving for some tasty Peruvian food and got it! Yummy! Food was delicious and the restaurant was cool. I loved the atmosphere and the service was great too...

Well, we weren't that close to the Main Square, but we decided to take a long walk. We didn't have anything else to do, plus some exercise sounded so appealing, specially if there was a long bus driving ahead.
sauco cheesecake, yummy!!!!
.. We ended up going to the cafe we'd been 2 days ago. It was nice to chill out there. I wasn't hungry, but thirsty. A glass of juice and a soda were wonderful. Nathan needed to write some stuff and I went to the market to buy "marjarblanco" and sauco jam for my parents. They'd love it! Well, we ended up sharing back at home :P

When I was back at the cafe, I noticed they were about closing soon... The place was still packed, but the staff started to do some cleaning. So better to buy dessert if I wanted. There was a sauco (local berry) cheesecake with my name on it :P Now, it was time to go back to the bus station. This time we wouldn't walk. The road didn't look that safe, plus it was Sunday night and it might have been empty. Just in case we'd take a cab. Bus left on time and I fall asleep right after, zzzz
