I had with me the lonelyplanet. I didn't need it to look for advices, but needed the map of the city.
Mmm, breakfast was delicious. I've told Nathan about the traditional breakfast and he ordered it. Well, he hasn't been here before, but read about this place and the food on the article I wrote about Huancayo. He thought I'd go for the same, but since I wouldn't be going to the gym the next few days, I decided to go for a healthy/light choice: a coca leaves tea and a huge, fresh and tasty salad fruit.
Now, we were ready to go and look for our transportation to Huancavelica. We asked where this bus company was located and headed that way. Huancayo is small and it was just walking distance. We have been told there are some cars "colectivos" that also drive to Huancavelica. It costs a bit more, but it's faster. Just have to wait until the car is full, 4 passengers. While we were looking for the bus company, a guy approached to us saying he'd leave soon to Huancavelica, mmm. Ok, but would this be safe? Yes, he wasn't a random guy, he worked in a colectivo company.
That sounded good to me, but my mind started to change when we arrived to the colectivo company and saw the name "Apocalipsis" OMG who chose that name??? Oh well, we'd give it a shot, hahaha. We had to wait for 2 more people in order to leave.
A few minutes later, we were ready to leave. It was about 9:50am when we left Huancayo. The landscape started to change. Although Huancayo is not that big, you could notice you were leaving behind the city and going to the country side. The road was surrounded by tall mountains and deep cliffs. As someone I read, I'd ask for security instead of speed, hehe. The highway was in very good condition and it shouldn't take that long (2 and 1/2hrs) to arrive in Huancavelica, but there are so many curves... In fact, I didn't feel sick because of the altitude but I think we both got a bit of motion sickness. Oh well, I slept a bit after having being enjoying the gorgeous scenery. God! I love the deep blue sky in highlands!!!
