Last night I noticed there were some guys drawing things on the streets, but didn't pay much attention. Today the place was crowded with several kids. What were they doing? Well that Sunday was the "Corpus Christi" fest and there would be a procession. The kids were making flower carpets for this event. The different groups wanted to do the most beautiful one, so this was a competition. Mmm, by the time we'd be back this would be ready, great!
Wow! The road to the Camelids Investigation Center was really bumpy... therefore the drive was much longer than it should have been. Along the whole drive we saw an impressive scenery, which was changing while we were getting higher. The Investigation Center was almost at 4,000m high.
Well, it was finally 7:20am when we arrived in Lachocc Investigation Center. It was freezing cold there! The driver kept the engine working while we would check the place. It was so quiet here, nobody was around and also no animals to see. I was a bit afraid we wouldn't be able to see anything. Oh well, let's start walking.
We would walk for a while in order to see some lamas. In our way we saw the vegetation was covered with frost. Nice! Mmm, no luck, no lamas, but birds, big ones. So bad we weren't able to take a picture of them. In our way back we saw a man driving his motorcycle. I was thinking he'd stop and ask us what we were doing there, since the gates were closed and we just snicked inside, hehe. But he didn't. In fact, he just waved hello :P
Our driver was still there. Imagine if he'd have left. We'd have been completely lost! We didn't see lamas in the Investigation Center, but we saw some in our drive back to Huancavelica. By that time it started to get sunny. Definitely visiting the investigation center when it was sunny might have done the difference, but if we'd have done so, we would have missed the celebrations going on in the Main Square of Huancavelica. Well, we finally had the opportunity to take some pictures of the local fauna, plus I got some sleep ;)
