Breakfast was a very quiet affair. There are many Singaporeans there. The three ate as they thought about their common worry. What would happen if their monthly biological affair came and dampen the whole trip? So, as much as they wanted to try bubble tea at the shop just outside their hotel, they refrained until they are done with the planning rafting in Huelien two days laters.
They went to Jiufen to experience another kind of bustle in Taipei. Jiufen is an old town. It used to be a town for gold mining, but everything quieten in the town when the miners left.
There is a very nice cobbled street, much like the Fenghuang old street which twisted and turned and presented new shops by the two sides of the street. The three forgot about their worries and tried many food along the street. They include icecream and peanut wrapped in popiah skin, icecream wrapped in pancake like thingy, bbq-ed mushrooms, yummy yam balls, fishball soups, roasted sweet potato and horned bread. Well, they were not THAT adventurous, but when they went into a teahouse to rest, two of their worry came true. Nevertheless, they still ordered buns, lavender tea, flower tea and longon tea with dates to relax at the teahouse while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the northern coast.
The wind was very cool and delicate. The three soon forgot about the time and realised that they still had shopping to do.
Eventually, they took the bus and it was an agonising journey for one of them with an extremely full bladder. When the bus finally stops at the station, the three went to the toilet first and then took a MRT down to Dongguan, to relive their youthful days in school. However, they bough cat stuff for their pets and some cheap earrings for their business. Dinner was also a quiet affair at a local eating house.
They purchased tickets to JiaoXi, Yilan for the next day and settled in for the night.
