The main even today was always going to be the BBQ Szabs' dad and her partner Unde had planned for us. I woke up late though and joined Dave, Neil, Katy and Fi for lunch before heading over the road for a pint with Dave in the local boozer. Meanwhile Szabs, who in the mean time had gone to visit her mother, had returned with her 4 year nephew Zatiny whose banter around the pool lifted our wayward group's spirits after a few nights on the lash.

On the way to Ferenc's (Szabs' dad) house, we picked up some beers and a treat for Zatiny for providing the afternoon's entertainment. Not that that was necessary seeing as Feri had ample beer, not to mention homemade Palinka (previously sampled at the wedding last year). He also had his own allotment at the end of his garden, accompanied by a coup of a dozen or so hens entertaining their cock.

First on the menu was an assortment of (you guessed it) meats. Followed by home made pork burgers and chicken thighs. The higlight tho was being handed huge lumps of pig fat on a forked scewer to cook on an open fire, and drip onto home made bread. For what was the least anticipated evening of the trip, this for me was the best. Great hospotality, great food, great company and... Palinka. A fantastic finish to a great weekend.
