Yesterday we went to this Krishna ceremony, but we didn't party, so I was able to get up early today and joined some friends to the Carrara Market. What was so interesting about this market? Well, besides the fact I love open markets (they offer different kind of things including fruits & veggies, clothing, food, books, shoes, plants, etc), a good friend from uni was working there during the weekends and I wanted to see him in action, lol.

After taking 2 buses, we finally arrived. Yes, here in Oz, I went back to be a pedestrian... "Kitty!!! I miss you!!!". It was already past noon by the time we were finally there. We tried to contact my friend, just to check if he'd like us to wait for him to have lunch together, but he was by himself in the shop and wouldn't leave until the end of the day (3pm).

No worries, see you later my friend.

The 3 of us started to explore the market. It was very big and they have everything you could ask for and things were cheaper than in Surfers and other areas of the city. It was very warm and we were thirsty, so having a smoothy sounded more than great. We were walking around the big market checking all the products they were offering. Elizabeth wanted to get sunglasses, so we were looking or the perfect ones.

I didn't have any special thing I needed to buy, but when I saw an apron I just grabbed it, hehe. We kept on walking just having fun around the market and without noticing it, we arrived in the shop where my friend works. He sells glasses, purses and other accesories, hehe. In our way I saw some fresh products and he recommended us to wait until 3pm when they were about closing.

lol
At this point they start to give big discounts in order to sell as much as possible. Sweet!

It was already 2:20pm... what to do? Lunch! We were so entertained checking everything that we forgot to eat. That's why we were starving, hahaha. Since the minute I saw a Kebab sign, I knew what I wanted for lunch: A falafel kebab! Niraj likes kebabs too, but Elizabeth has never tried them. This would be her 1st time, yay! Kebabs were good and perfect size. Not too big but not too small either. Yummy! By the time we finished it was already 5 past 3, better hurry up!

Oh no! It was late. Most of the shops were already closed and I was just thinking about the strawberries and pineapple I saw... oh well, at least I could get some veggies. I guess, I'd have to come back at some point.

hehe
We went back to my friend's shop and he was already closing it. We helped him - after playing with the merchandise - and then he drove us back to Surfers. Definitely this wasn't a regular Sunday, but a fun one.

Another friend couldn't join us to the market, so we all went to visit him, hehe. We were chilling out at his place. The plan was to stay there for 1-2 hours and then go home but we decided to go out for dinner, hahaha. Still thinking about the Krishna experience, we'd go to a Vegetarian place in Surfers. The group got larger and we all left.

What a shame we were walking around Surfers, but couldn't find this restaurant. So we ended up going to a Malayan restaurant. I have already tried Malayan food and like it. So this option sounded appealing.

it was raining again...
The restaurant was empty, mmm. Not a very good sign, but let's give it a shot. Food was ok, nothing outrageous, but company was awesome. We were 5 people. 2 experts regarding Malayan food: the Malayan and the Singaporean. 1 with basic knowledge: the Peruvian (me) and 2 new to the experience: another Peruvian and a Mexican. Wow! I love the fact that I'm able to hang out daily with people with so different backgrounds. That's priceless! Back to the story, we were warned this food could be spicy, but we all like spicy food. Therefore it was a big surprise when the Mexican was complaining his dish was very hot, lol

Well, it has been a long day and better start walking back home. In our way we stopped at an Irish Pub, but they didn't let us in since one of the guys was wearing sandals, grrrr. So we grabbed our own beer and went to my friend's. We arrived just in time. It started to pour! Well, we didn't leave the house until the rain stopped, which happened a couple of hours later. Pfff, this has been a really long day. I was so tired, but super happy. Welcome to a regular Sunday in my Aussie life :)
