As scheduled we landed at 6:15am. I turned on my cellphone just in case it'd work, but it didn't. Oh well... hopefully my friend has arrived to the airport. I was running to Customs when I saw everyone stopped. What was going on? Just the regular stuff, you had to pass the dog control first. People were asked to do a line and an officer with a dog would walk next to you. Interesting.
Clearing customs was going perfectly fine until the girl asked for my Yellow Fever Shot Certificate. The shot is valid for 10 years and I got it 5 years ago, so everything should be fine. Apparently the girl couldn't understand the card, well it was old and only written in Spanish. She went to talk to another officer and called her supervisor later since they both didn't know if the card was good or no. The card is good, take it! I was starting to get nervous... Just the idea of not being able to enter to the country was scary... Happily the supervisor checked the card and understood it, no problem and Welcome to Australia! Thanks mate!
Now it was time to pick up my bags, pfff.
I started to push my cart and when I was crossing the door I saw a familiar face. There he was! "Hi Craig!" It was so good to see him, yay! Last time we met was in Lima, back in February. After a big hug we started to walk to the parking area. Craig was about going to pay when he realized the car keys were missing, oh no!!! He run back to a coffee shop and they were there. Somebody found them and gave them to the clerk. Awesome! If he'd have lost the keys, we'd have been lost.
Ok, I was the copilot but sat at the left side, hahaha. This was bizarre, hahaha. Finally I made it, I'm in Oz! The new chapter of my life was starting. How exciting :)
