A much needed de-stressing weekend!

Since I came back from Cambodia, I've been really restless and I feel like going off anywhere…just to escape work! :P A couple of friends and I decided to have a de-stressing weekend by the beach and since I owe my cousin a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe Penang, we decided to head that way & stay at Batu Ferringhi. A sad fact on Ferringhi: It was hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and Penang has the worst hit.
Anyway, the moment we landed, it started to rain. Heavily! We took a taxi to Batu Ferringhi and according to the driver; it hasn't rain for a few days. I guess we brought the rain from KL to Penang. Hehe. (It’s raining quite regularly in KL!). When we reached Ferringhi, we took one look at the hotel that we're supposed to stay at and decided there and then to stay at another place. Why, you asked? Is the hotel not nice, you asked? Nahh, it looks good but it's too far from the beach!!! I want to be able to get out from my room, walk for a few metres and voila! ... The sea!
The driver suggested a few guesthouses, which is how we came about Ali's Guesthouse. I took one look and I just knew it... this is going to be our home for the next 3 days, 2 nights! :) Take a look at the pictures and you’ll know why! At RM150 per night we get: 1 queen bed & 1 single bed, hot & cold shower, flat screen tv (didn't used it though), a clean bathroom & 2 pillows each (well, normally we get one and have to ask for extra from the recep)... and as usual, I forgot to take a picture of the room! On the guest house itself : a traditional malay house built in 1965 & converted into a guest house in 1975. Love it!
In the meantime, it's still raining heavily... and it didn't stop until 2 am! There goes my plan to take a midnight stroll along the beach. Darn it!
