Kesh: We had decided to spend another night in Slovenia (mostly because all of the overnight trains to Venice were booked out) so we got a bus through to Bled (it was E7 each way which was a tad steep). We arrived and headed striaght for the lake. It was a bit confusing becuase there was a swimming area that you had to pay for, but all the locals seemed quite happy to swim at the rowing club for free so we found a shady spot and joined them. After a few hours of sunning and swimming and our picnic lunch nabbed from the hostel. We enjoyed a cooling beer and then ascended the hill to the castle - now hot and sweaty again we decided that the views were enough for us and did not visit the castle, but headed back down the hill and jumped on a bus back to Ljubljana. We were starving when we got back so decided to settle for the Chinese at the station before heading back to the hostel for an early night, as we had a very early bus in the morning!! There was a good dose of cooling rain that night which was great, but didnt really make the room any more bearable through the night even with a chair propping open the window and sleeping with the door open.
