After many months of preparation, we finally set off, it was my first backpacking adventure and i had that nervous but excited feeling of not knowing how this would go. We got on the train from Swansea-Cardiff, then got the megabus from Cardiff to London for just £1!! Arriving in London, still not used to our backpacks, we wandered around all evening, up and down the South bank, sitting and watching the street acts and performers, taking it all in. Eventually we ended up sitting outside Buckingham Palace until around 2am eating sandwiches, then headed back to London Victoria to get the bus to the Airport.
Flight from London Luton to Krakow at 6:15am. All went smoothly, quite a nice flight actually,as much as i hate flying. Getting off the plane in Poland, we felt that breeze of warm air straight away. Outside the airport we took a train into Krakow Glowny station, here the station takes you straight into the middle of a shopping mall which was a big confusing after not taking the correct exit towards our hostel! Apparently our hostel was straight across the road...not quite. Again, wandering around for quite some time, we found it. We booked two nights at the Greg-Tom Hostel which is one of the best hostels in Europe apparently. It was very good, we paid £11 per night for a 4 bed mixed dorm, it was only five minutes walk from the centre of Krakow and all the facilities were clean and the staff were extra-friendly so we were happy!
